SAK-Mod: Ti San-Mai Camper

Dieses Camper haben wir einer Schönheitskur unterzogen:

Titanschalen mit Clip und Mokume-Gane-Inlay sowie eine Custom-VG10-Klinge im San-Mai-Aufbau machen das Messer nicht nur zu einem Hingucker, sondern werten es auch im Alltagsgebrauch enorm auf.
Der Stahl wird von der Firma Takefu Special Steel Co. LTD. in Japan hergestellt. Die mittige Schneidlage besteht aus VG10-Stahl. Beidseits der Mittellage sind jeweils 33 parallele Lagen Edelstahl mit einer zusätzlichen Verbindungslage zum VG10 aufgeschweißt.  So entsteht ein eine Klinge im San-Mai-Aufbau mit insgesamt 69 Lagen, die beim Ätzen der fertigen Klinge das typische Lagenmuster zeigt.

English description:

We have given this Camper a makeover: titanium scales with clip and Mokume-Gane inlay, as well as a custom VG10 blade in San-Mai construction, not only make the knife an eye-catcher, but also greatly enhance its everyday usability.
The steel is manufactured by Takefu Special Steel Co. LTD. in Japan. The central cutting layer consists of VG10 steel. On both sides of the central layer, 33 parallel layers of stainless steel are welded on with an additional connecting layer to the VG10. This creates a blade with a San-Mai structure with a total of 69 layers, which shows the typical layer pattern when the finished blade is etched.

SAK-Mod: Toxic Green One-Hand Motorist

Es hat stets etwas erhabenes, wenn man alten Modellen neues Leben einhaucht.

Diesmal haben wir uns des Motorist-Modells angenommen und veredelt:
– die Klinge wurde durch eine VG10-Einhand-Klinge (HRC 60) ersetzt. Dank des Slipjoint-Mechnismus der 91mm-SAKs ist diese Lösung auch weiterhin §42A WaffG-konform (#FCK42a)
– alle Tools bekamen ein Acid/Stonewash-Finish verpasst
– rote Liner bilden ein tollen Kontrast zu den
– Custom-Schalen aus toxic-green-Micarta,
welche diesem Custom-SAK einen angemessenen Rahmen geben.

English description:

There is always something sublime about breathing new life into old models.

This time we have taken on the Motorist model and refined it:
– the blade was replaced with a VG10 one-handed blade (HRC 60). Thanks to the slipjoint mechanism of the 91mm-SAKs, this solution is still §42A WaffG-compliant (#FCK42a)
– all tools have been given an acid/stonewash finish
– red liners form a great contrast to the
– custom scales made of toxic-green-Micarta,
which give this custom SAK an appropriate frame.

SAK-Mod: Damascus Blue-Titanium Saddler

Wir haben unser „Saddler“-Modell nochmal neu aufgelegt.

Die Werkzeugausstattung – bestehend aus Schere, großer Klinge, Stechahle, Korkenzieher und Pakethaken – wird weiterhin eingebettet in Titan-Schalen mit lasergraviertem Damast-Muster. Als optisches Highlight haben wir nun das „Plus„-Cutout mit blau anodisertem Titan hinterlegt.

We have relaunched our ‘Saddler’ model and the tool kit – consisting of scissors, large blade, reamer, corkscrew and package hook – is still embedded in titanium scales with a laser-engraved Damascus pattern. As a visual highlight, we have now backed the „plus„-cutout with blue anodised titanium.

SAK Mod: Desert Iron ZDP189 Proficient

Messingliner und Schalen aus atemberaubend schön gemasertem Wüsteneisenholz (Olneya tesota) bilden den Rahmen dieses Proficient, dessen Herzstück die Hauptklinge aus dem pulvermepulvermetallurgischem Premium-Klingenstahl ZDP-189 darstellt.
Dieser Klingenstahl aus dem Hause Hitachi Metals kommt mit beeindruckenden 3% Kohlenstoff und 20% Chrom daher. Der Stahl verfügt zudem über eine besonders feine und gleichmäßige Microstruktur und zeichnet sich vor allem durch seine außerordentliche Verschleißfestigkeit und seine ausgezeichneten Korrosionseigenschaften aus.

Brass liners and scales made of breath-taking marbled desert-iron-wood are the framework of this Proficient, which comes along with a blade made of premium ZDP-189 PM-steel by Hitachi Metals which contains 3% Carbon and 20% Chromium. It is known for its consistent microstrucrure and amazing wear resistance.

Wenn es um belastbare wie dem Auge gefällige Custom-Schalen geht, kommt man eigentlich nicht an Wüsteneisenholz vorbei. Daher haben wir dieses Huntsman in wunderschön gemasertes Wüsteneisenholz gekleidet.
