Das Stormtrooper Alox Knife (SAK)
Wie zuvor schon beim Blackout Alox und dem Damascus Rancher haben wir auch dieses Messer im Rahmen einer limitierten Mini-Serie (5 Stück) aufgelegt. Die Klingen/Werkzeuge/Zwischenplatinen wurden schwarz brüniert/eloxiert, während die Alox-Schalen mit einer äußerst widerstandsfähigen weißen Cerakote-Beschichtung versehen wurden.

The Stormtrooper Alox Knife (SAK)
As before like the Blackout Alox or the Damascus Rancher we produced this knife in a mini-series (5 pieces maode only). blades/tools/linres were black oxidized/anodized, while the Alox scales got a sturdy white Ceraktote-Coating.

Wir – als Spezialist für Custom-SAKs – haben uns von den Gegebenheiten des Marktes aber nicht beeindrucken lassen, sondern dem Kunden nach seinen Wünschen einfach neue Scientist-Modelle kreiert und entsprechend eingekleidet.
Die Wahl fiel dabei zum einen auf edles Wüsteneisenholz (ebenfalls schon ein Klassiker bei Chris Custom Works) sowie zum anderen (als Besonderheit) auf Raffir Metapol Wires Gold.
Bei diesem Material in Bernsteinoptik handelt es sich um einen High-Tech Verbundwerkstoff aus Aluminium und Epoxydharz.

The Scientist is a classic under the SAKs, but long time out-of-production and quite rare.
As a specialist for custom-SAKs we decided to be unimpressed by the market-occasions but just to create New-Scientist-models with new fancy dresses.
By customers wish we used desert-orin-wood (another classic at Chris Custom Works) and as a new special feature: Raffir Metapol Wires Gold.
This amber-looking material is a high-tech-composite of aluminium and epoxy.

Nach den Waiter Mods hat wieder ein solches Messer den Weg zu uns gefunden.

Diesmal haben wir für das Waiter auf besonderen Wunsch Schalen aus Guajak-Holz gefertigt, was eine besondere Herausforderung war.
Exkurs:
Die Härte von Holz kann nach dem Brinell-Verfahren bestimmt werden. Ähnlich wie bei der Härte nach Rockwell wird hier die Eindringtiefe eines Prüfkörpers ins Holz gemessen. Je höher die Messzahl der Brinellhärte, desto härter das Holz. Die Einheit der Brinell-Härte ist N/mm².
Hier nun mal ein paar Hölzer im Vergleich:
Fichte: 12 N/mm²
Birke (europäisch): 22 N/mm²
Nussbaum (europäisch): 32 N/mm²
Teak: 30 N/mm²
Eiche: 34 N/mm²
Esche: 38 N/mm²
Bambus: 40 N/mm²
Olive: 51 N/mm²

Das Guajak-Holz kam nun mit einer Brinell-Härte von 90N/mm² daher also fast dreimal so hart wie Eiche! Mit solchen Schalen ist das Waiter gegen alle Fährnisse des Alltags gerüstet.

After the Waiter Mods another knife found its way to us. This time we made the scales for the Waiter of Guaiacum-wood, which was special challenge for us.
Excursion:
The hardness of wood can be determined by the Brinell-Technique. Similar to the hardness by Rockwell it is measured how deep a test-phantom can get. The higher the rate, the harder the wood. The unit of Brinell-hardness is N/mm².

Dieser Umbau ist sowohl eine Reminiszens wie auch eine Weiterentwicklung des Electrician Duo Modells.

Ausgestattet sowohl mit Haken- wie auch mit Kabelklinge weist dieses Messer (natürlich abgesehen von der Schere!) eine Werkzeugkombination auf, die es leider nie in Produktion geschafft hat. Abgerundet wird das Erscheinungsbild durch blaue Alox-Schalen im Kontrast mit roten Zwischenplatinen.
Ein echtes Custom-SAK eben!

This Mod is a reminiscence as well as a derivative of the Electrician Duo model.
Equipped with both pruner- and small electricians blade this SAK shows a tool-combination (besides the scissors of course!) which has alas never come to regular production. This outfit is topped off with blue Alox scales contrasted with red liners.
Really a real Custom-SAK!
